UNESCO - Convent of Christ in Tomar, Portugal

Convento de Cristo is a Roman-catholic building in Tomar, central Portugal. It was originally a Templar stronghold built by Gualdim Pais, provincial Master of the Order of the Temple. The famous round church (rotunda) of the castle of Tomar was also built in the second half of the 12th century. This photo shows the exterior of the rotunda. Many thanks to Ana, who also used a gorgeous Madeira Europa stamp :)
