A Beach House In Terengganu, Malaysia

This is not mentioned in the previous post, but how about a walk between the palm trees? I am sure not many would mind :) Thanks goes to Shane.

(The 100-Walks post was a quick reaction to saving a list I stumbled upon while looking for some info online. A few walks I have done, a few have been on my to-do list since forever, and plenty can serve as further inspiration. Hmm its not like I need more trouble to choose my next travel destination, humph.)

Sipandan Island, Malaysia

Sipadan is the only oceanic island in Malaysia, rising 600 metres from the seabed. It is located in the Celebes Sea off the east coast of Sabah, East Malaysia (which is on the island of Borneo). It was formed by living corals growing on top of an extinct volcanic cone that took thousands of years to develop. Sipadan is located at the heart of the Indo-Pacific basin, the centre of one of the richest marine habitats in the world. More than 3,000 species of fish and hundreds of coral species have been classified in this ecosystem.

Cameron Highlands, Malaysia

Lush green hills always attract me like a magnet...The Cameron Highlands are known for its tea estates, as well as orchards, farmlands, waterfalls, wildlife, mossy forest,  and the indigeonous Orang Asli peoples. As the sender says, she loves having a cup of fresh tea at plantations such as in this picture, and I am jealous - thank you Victoria Jane :)

I don't have cats or art on my wishlist on official PC profile, nor do I normally appreciate people sending free cards, but this one strangely works somehow...must be the colours :)

 

And this is my last day at work! Not sure how to feel about it...I am looking forward to my short trip in november, to mum's cooking and being alone in my room...but it sure would be nice to be able to work for  a while longer..! The scans are stored on usb and will be posted here from time to time. Hope everyone will have a nice autumn :)

 

Putrajaya, Malaysia

Beautiful vibrant colours on this postcard showing Putra Mosque and in the background Perdana Putra,  the Prime Minister's Office. Its hard to guess that these buildings were built less than two decades ago - as Putrajaya, located 25 km south of Kuala Lumpur, is a planned city built when the seat of government was shifted in 1999 from Kuala Lumpur, due to overcrowding and congestion in the Kuala Lumpur area.

Silvered Leaf Langur, Malaysia

Silvered Leaf Langur or Silvery Lutung is an Old World monkey native to Malaysia. Baby langurs are incredibly cute with their bright orange fur! Since collecting animal postcards I am learning to like monkeys - such interesting creatures, I hope to meet some in the wild soon :) Thank you Erica for this swap!

UNESCO - Kinabalu Park, Malaysia

Kinabalu National Park is Malaysia's first World heritage Site (2000) - it is one of the most important biological sites in the world, counting over 4500 animal and plant species. The variety of flora includes many carnivorous plants and orchids; fauna boasts many endemic species, such as Kinabalu Giant Red Leech.

With some Unesco sites it is just impossible to see all the aspects of it on one postcard, esp when it comes to natural sites - thats why I really loved receiving both of these cards! Thank you Caroline, and for the beautiful stamps! <3

Bako National Park, Malaysia

This beautiful sunset photo shows  Bako National Park, the oldest national park in Sarawak, Malaysian part on the island of Borneo. It is one of the smallest but most interesting in the area - there is/are abundant wildlife, jungle streams and waterfalls, secluded beaches an trekking trails. Doesn't that make you wanna pack your bags and fly over straight away?! Among other species it is home to the funny-nosed  Proboscis monkey, that is endemic to the island area.

I have received this card as a result of asianpunk's efforts to introduce the world to his english tuition students/children. I had a swap with Akmal, and really hope he liked my Zadar card :)
