UNESCO - Mosi-oa-Tunya / Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

These are among the most spectacular waterfalls in the world. The Zambezi River, which is more than 2 km wide at this point, plunges noisily down a series of basalt gorges and raises an iridescent mist that can be seen more than 20 km away.

After this post you'd probably think I should never again claim a lack of luck - not only was I online when Andy opened new groups in the vacation RR, I managed to squeeze into the Zimbabwe group for only three people! Wow, I thought, you lucky bee.Thea went on a holiday to Southern Africa which encompassed the famous Victoria Falls. The other sites shown on this postcard are the capital Harare, Gonarezhou Cliffs, the ruined city Great Zimbabwe (Unesco), Honde Valley and Birchenough Bridge.
