A dash of refreshment during this heat wave we have, at least in a form of a postcard...Another one of those I-want-to-jump-right-in scenes.

Maiko Girls In Kyoto In December
I have titled the postcard as written on the back, though I am curious if this view in any way specifically denotes December. I'd love to know what the tiles represent! There were times when I more actively collected Maiko postcards, now I don't spend that much time in the official forum...where quite a few swappers from Japan offer great cards such as this one. Many thanks to Yuka :)

Maiko Of Kyoto
Its been a while since I've posted one of my favourite topics...I havent received any such postcards for a while as well...so here are a few gems from last year :) The second card showing Maiko Girls And Sanjo Ohashi Bridge, Kyoto. Many thanks to Miho and Toshie, who participate in the Japan tag :)

A Mysterious Portrait Of A Maiko
Vivid crimson lips and white make-up are the trademarks
of the stylized beauty of a maiko, captured in detail
as she prepares to perform a Shinto offertory dance during
Gion Matsuri.
Gion Matsuri.
Its (relatively) been a while since I posted a card from Japan! I thank haniwa for this beauty and the coolest map stamp.<3>3>

Japan - Maiko & Manga
I will show these two cards together because I got them both for the Japan RR at the same time - and they both have heart-shaped Mickey & Minnie stamps! At first glance I thought it was the same one, but this is so cool to get two different ones of the same series :)))
As usual the Maiko girls on the streets of Kyoto are a beautiful sight :)
An interesting information connected to the Manga card - the Japanese formerly believed that rabbits lived on the moon, because its possible to discern a shape of a rabbit on the moon's surface. I will look for it next time I see the full moon! I always see a face in distress...:/
Big thanks go to Cockie and YukinoHana for great cards and stamps!!

Maiko Girls In The Garden Of Daigo-ji Temple, Japan
I just adore the series of cards with Maiko Girls in Kyoto by Asahi Card! The autumn colours in this one are amazing - the whole composition is an equivalent of a perfectly played music chord...! Million thanks to DekoPon for the private swap :)))

Maiko Girls - Tea Ceremony
Another one of the gorgeous Maiko cards from Kyoto - this time thanks to Rina/Selah, who asked for a private swap. I wish more people from Japan asked me the same thing! heh. But i cannot complain; am really happy about all the Japanese cards i received lately :)

Maiko Girls In Kyoto, Japan
Maiko Girls Worshipping at Yasaka Shrine, Kyoto
Two beautiful additions to my Japan collection came from Sumi/tinktink0302 ::))
Thank you so much, and for all the info and great stamps! i couldnt find out more about these stamps online so any hint is appreciated ;)
As i told Sumie, Kyoto is the first place i'd want to visit in Japan. Not even sure why, i think its the combination of all the little information i gathered about it...And looking it up i find out that it is one of the best preserved ancient towns in Japan, teeming with temples and shrines. It looks stunning in autumn colours!
Until my visit, i'll enjoy the postcards :))
