La Mouche Advertisement

An Art Nouveau poster, whats not to like..?! La Mouche is a car produced by a French company Teste et Moret at the penultimate turn of the century. Only about 300 of these were made (in the 1898-1903 period) and seven are still known to exist.
I often wonder how exciting the life was in those golden times of inventions...
Love this, and the stamp too, thank you Inez!

UNESCO - Old Village Of Hollókő, Hungary

Hollokö is an outstanding example of a deliberately preserved traditional settlement. This village, which developed mainly during the 17th and 18th centuries, is a living example of rural life before the agricultural revolution of the 20th century.
It sounds like the whole place is like one open-air museum, awesome. Quite hard to get any other cards from Hungary but Budapest, I was so happy to swap with Ania who visited there in spring, and used such great stamps too.

Magic Budapest

While waiting for a new scanner to arrive, decided to 'break the silence' of over a month here by posting this cute postcard I've received recently (photographing postcards not as good as scanning but this one turned out alright :)). As I have quite a few view cards from Budapest this illustration card was a welcome novelty esp with the ginger cat snoozing there in the corner :)
Many thanks to Krisztina, who told me she participated in a postcrossing meeting with over a dozen participants in Budapest - as Hungary is not that often to be seen among swapping countries I must say that is a great number! Love also the variety of stamps.

Animals Of Puszta, Hungary

I've found donkeys in Hungary, yay! And not in a place I'd expect it, up the Gellert Hill. Its so soothing to view these rural scenes...I must have been a country girl in past lives :)

Absolute Pepper Of Hungary

While in Budapest last month (what a beautiful city!) I've discovered a series of postcards 'Absolute...' which represent all the best things Hungarian - here the world-famous red peppers. As the Hungarian cousine influenced Croatia we quite regularly use red pepper powder in the kitchen, yum. The stamps round up the theme :)

UNESCO - Hortobágy National Park-The Puszta, Hungary

Hortobágy is a cultural landscape in Eastern Hungary, marked with vast plains and wetlands, and rich folklore and history. Here traditional forms of land use have been present for more than two millennia. Hortobágy is Hungary's largest protected area, and the largest natural grassland in Europe.

I would love to be able to drive through this area and watch the herdsmen at work. As it is close, in a neighbouring country, perhaps I will one day! Thank you Brigi of the FB swap days :) the stamps are great too!

Madárijesztő/Scarecrow Multiples, Hungary

I was really happy when contacted by Andi via official PC-site for a private swap; for a European country and a neighbour Hungary is not that frequent in postcrossing...This way I've learned they also issue multiples, the kind of card that is so popular lately :)
Thank you Andi for this great swap! The stamps are lovely, esp. the cute bear xD
