On The Way To Green Canyon, Indonesia

This looks fantastic, a boat ride on the Indonesian island of Java (of course we are ignoring the probable millions of mosquitos and other insects ;)) ' Boats buzz up the jungle-fringed, emerald river from a small marina to a waterfall and a beautiful canyon...'
The stamp thief was active a year ago...
Thank you Cheni :)

Šumava National Park, Czech Republic

Šumava National Park is situated in the South Bohemian Regions of the Czech Republic along the border with Germany and Austria. Since 1990 it has been the protected Biospherical Reserve of UNESCO. Vltava, the longest river within the Czech Republic, runs from and through it.

Yesterday I watched the movie 'Wild' which set me in the mood for hiking. This looks like an incredible place for doing just that. Many thanks to Vlastička for this view of the Czech countryside..!

UNESCO - Danube Delta, Romania

The waters of the Danube, which flow into the Black Sea, form the largest and best preserved of Europe's deltas. The Danube delta hosts over 300 species of birds as well as 45 freshwater fish species in its numerous lakes and marshes.
One of those species is the great white pelican (Pelecanus onocrotalus), whose wingspan can range from 226 to 360 cm. The pelicans arrive in the Danube in late March or early April and depart after breeding from September to late November.
I simply love these cards! Looks like such an amazing place. Mulțumesc Anca :))

UNESCO - Canal Du Midi, France

Another autumn card, love the warm colours of the foliage :) The Canal du Midi is a 241 km long canal in Southern France -  it was considered at the time to be one of the greatest construction works of the 17th century.
The canal connects the Garonne River to the Étang de Thau on the Mediterranean and along with the 193 km (120 mi) long Canal de Garonne forms the Canal des Deux Mers joining the Atlantic to the Mediterranean.
Merci Sébastien :)

UNESCO - Virgin Komi Forests, Russia

A wonderful presentation of Virgin Komi Forests came via an Unesco tag - a silent Sharyu river bend with the representative boreal forest, complete with two matching stamps on top. Thank you Elena :))
The forests are  found in the Northern Ural mountains of the Komi Republic (the size of the republic is 9x Croatia);  at 32,800 km² it is the largest virgin forest in Europe,  belonging to the Ural Mountains taiga ecoregion. Dominant tree species include Siberian Spruce, Siberian Fir and Siberian Larch, while the most prominent mammals are the reindeer, the sable, the mink and the hare.
Its mind-boggling to think of all that vast untouched nature...Imagine someone dropped you right in the middle...a blessing or demise?

Guilin Scenery, China

Guìlín is a prefecture-level city of far southern China, sitting on the west bank of the Li River. It is the scenery of the riverside that makes this area one of the more popular tourist spots in China. You can take a cruise down the river to enjoy the views as the river winds through some truly spectacular limestone formations. Courtesy of...:)
As I've just learned, Unesco has The Lijiang River Scenic Zone at Guilin on its tentative list :)
