This little but powerful country has been hiding from me for a long while...I have Selim to thank for this Qatar view with a traditional boat. Continuing with the sunset theme :)

A Fisherman In Portugal
Love this kind of a daily scene...and the boat's name 'Tres Amores', I wonder - actually I am quite sure the meaning is on some deeper level, maybe even rooted in the tradition? Many thanks Jose :)

Maori War Canoe, New Zealand
In Māori tradition, Ngātokimatawhaorua was one of the great ocean-going, voyaging canoes that was used in the migrations that settled New Zealand. Its name means 'the Adzes which shaped it twice'. This is the world's largest war canoe, built in 1940 for the centennial commemoration of the Treaty of Waitangi.
The 35-metre canoe carries a crew of 90 paddlers.
Thank you Sue, and for the fantastic Hobbit/Gandalf stamp! :))

Traditional Fishing Boat 'Luzzu', Malta
A luzzu is a traditional fishing boat from the Maltese islands, brightly painted in shades of yellow, red, green and blue, and the bow (usually) pointed with a pair of eyes. It looks like a sad little fella dying to go out of the harbour and onto the sea..!
