Wild Nature Of Guyane

I must admit I am a bit confused with the Guianas...lucky that the Dutch Guiana became Suriname heh, French Guiana is often called just Guiana, or Guyane in french...whereas Guyana is just Guyana, though it was British Guaina once...there IS a slight difference in pronunciation!

Jo used great stamps alas one was stolen, and because they are self-adhesive the other cards kept sticking to it..! I really start to wonder about this thief, what can you possibly do with a torn self-adhesive stamp? Oh well...one thing is sure - merci Jo :)

Such a great surprise in my mailbox last week, iguana card from French Guiana! These fellas here have such bright colours, thanks a lot Cheryll :))

Btw if anyone is familiar with postcodes in French overseas territories...any idea what 25926A stands for? It is not the FG code but also for any other place, according to google. Puzzled!

My 1st written&stamped card from French Guiana, thanks to Luis/lmc who was very kind to open a group in the vacation RR :) I think I am not the only one who is sad about some overseas territories not having their own stamps & cancellations...actually I have seen local cancellations on some, but they seem to be pretty random..! Nevertheless it is a joy to receive a card from such an exotic country, thank you Luis!
