UNESCO - Pont du Gard (Roman Aqueduct), France

This magnificent Roman aqueduct bridge crosses the Gard River in southern France, and is the highest of its kind reaching 48.8m. The aqueduct was constructed by the Romans in the 1st century AD and channeled approximately 200 million litres of water a day to the citizens of nearby Nîmes. Impressive for sure!
Thank you Veronique/sunsky for sending this lovely card for the France-World tag :)
