Kookaburras, Australia

Kookaburras are such cool birds - I've 'met' a few when i was in Australia :) They have such a distinctive, strange way of calling, like monkeys in the jungle heh.
Kookaburras are terrestrial kingfishers, generally not associated with water - can be found in different habitats, ranging from humid forests to arid savannas. They are native to Australia and New Guinea. They grow to be up to 42cm long and are carnivorous (feeding on insects, lizards, even snakes and other birds chicks).
This time thanks go to Aussiebear and the animal tag :)
