Castel del Monte is situated in Apulia, southeastern Italy. It was built in the 13th century by The Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II, but unfortunatelly looted over the following centuries. Unlike other castles of the time it has neither a moat nor a drawbridge. Today its on the Unesco list :)
Zoran was on a trip to Italy this winter and delighted me by sending this card - hvala Zorane! :)
