An Envelope Of Joy, Indonesia

At first I was puzzled to have received an envelope fron Indonesia, cos I was expecting postcards from Shinta, and she knows I like them written & stamped...and when I opened it, I couldn't but gasp in amazement, cos she sent me all three cards with stamps and cancellations! To top it all, she added a folding card that I had in my favs, and the gorgeous portrait of the happy old Javanese couple which never arrived for a tag. Shinta is such a great postcrosser, and its a shame that her postcards get lost on the way cos she puts so much love into writing them...I guess her and Ana would have to compete for the neatest handwriting :P
I dont know what the painting on the folding card shows exactly, but its colourful and vibrant and I love it :) The next two cards show the traditional farming of the Indonesian islands - transplanting rice, and picking teas. The last is a detailed Unesco view, reliefs of the Borobudur Temple.
The last item is a beautiful intricate bookmark which I will keep sealed to keep it safe :)
Thank you so much Shinta! Btw do you use fragrant pen? ;)))

Vampire Cats

As my sis would say, vampires are popular these days ;) Though the first cat looks quite disturbed on more than one level..! I'd prefer thinking of cats as lazy, cuddly creatures :) I have many scans waiting to be posted, among them many from sis - the motto is 'a few posts a day chases the bloggin' blues away'

Landshut, Bavaria, Germany

Landshut is a Bavarian town situated on the banks of the River Isar, and is the capital of Lower Bavaria. The city is of national importance because of its predominantly Gothic architecture within the historic city centre, especially Trausnitz Castle and the Church of Saint Martin featuring the world's tallest brick tower. Also world-known for the Landshut Wedding, one of the largest historical pageants in Europe, commemorates the wedding between Hedwig, the Polish King's daughter, and George, the son of the Duke of Landshut. It is being held every four years, and it seems 2013 is the next date..! I dont think I'd be able to go but ehm...lets see..!
Beautiful town that I visited last winter, and I have to add a few of my own photos to show what I liked most about it, its colourful houses :)

NI Multiples - Yum!

Aah I am sucker for fancy breakfasts and coffee breaks; the most enjoyable thing to do when you visit another town is to find a nice and cosy place to have coffee and a snack - and then imagine having a PC meeting in one of such places? Soon such a meeting will take place with dear PC friends and am sooo jealous I cant be there...Thank you Mirijam and Lotty, and everyone who signed :)

Dr. House

And for the finale of my last regular blogging spree (on the evening when noone seems to be online but me :P) I give you the sharp-tongued misanthropic brilliant doc who is both irritating and fascinating. I am midway watching the season 6 (refusing to follow season 8 on tv unless I catch up) and enjoying it even more than the previous seasons - I love it how Wilson manages House! Ok time for another puzzlin case. Thank you Vicky for sending this :)))

Vahine Tahiti, French Polynesia

Vahine or wahine means 'a woman' in Polynesia. This beauty comes from Tahiti, the largest island in the Windward group of French Polynesia, and its economic, cultural and political centre. The island was formed from volcanic activity and is high and mountainous with surrounding coral reefs. Huge leaves as parasoles? I'm up for it! Thank you so much Magali :)))

Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, Brunei Darussalam

Brunei or Negara Brunei Darussalam is a sovereign state located on the north coast of the island of Borneo, surrounded by the Malaysian state Sarawak and the South China Sea. Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque is a royal Islamic mosque located in Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of the Sultanate of Brunei. The building was completed in 1958 and is an example of modern Islamic architecture. The mosque's most recognizable feature, the main dome, is covered in pure gold. Impressive!
Thank you Yana for sending this beautiful view from your travels :))

Samoa - The Heart Of Polynesia

I've received this precious postcard thru a volunteering project - the students were writing about their everyday life on this exotic island :) thank you everyone!
The Independent State of Samoa, formerly known as Western Samoa, is a country encompassing the western part of the Samoan Islands in the South Pacific Ocean - the eastern part is known as American Samoa, and there is only 64km of distance between them . They share the same language and culture. Samoa became independent from New Zealand in 1962. The capital is Apia, the currency tala.
