UNESCO - Speyer Cathedral, Germany

Very happy to receive this night view of the Speyer Cathedral from an interesting perspective - this basilica with two domes and four towers was founded in the 11th century by Conrad II and is considered one of the most important Romanesque monuments from the time of the Holy Roman Empire. It was the burial place for German emperors for almost 300 years.
What did I say about cathedrals...imposing? That is certainly the first adjective I think of when I try to remember my visit there many years ago..! Too long now and another visit must be made. Danke vielmals Brigitte :))
